Ethical Smart City
At a time when
The Ethical Smart City Project was created to examine and improve upon smart city strategies and developments. A Playbook & Toolkit were created by a team of 13 interdisciplinary students to showcase how smart city initiatives can be built through rigorous public engagement efforts that begin from the bottom up. The launch event saw over 340 attendees from around the globe.
The Toolkit was further tested by a smaller team of 3, including myself, at the 2021 Future Cities Canada Summit. Bringing community changemakers together virtually to try the Toolkit for the first time. A paper was published in the IxD&A Interaction Design & Architecture(s) journal as a result, sharing the design and testing of this novel public engagement method.
