It’s so nice to meet you.

My name is Madalynne, but most people call me Maddy. I’m a Masters of Planning student in my final semester at Toronto Metropolitan University’s School of Urban and Regional Planning.

My work in planning is driven by an interest to understand the needs and goals of communities in order to build resilient solutions that reflect their values. An award-winning human-centred designer and strategist by trade, I am inspired by my background in psychology, the connection between humans and nature, and the complex but fascinating systems within which we live. Currently, my major research paper for my masters explores the relationship between mental health and blue spaces during warm and cold seasons in Canada.

I am so very passionate about bridging the gaps between complex concepts, research, and application by using my skills in planning, communication design, storytelling, and clever engagement strategies with the public. I see planning as a collaborative practice where I enjoy facilitating the merging of many perspectives, while bringing my own skills to the table to build resilient, restorative, and vibrant cities.
